I’m sure you agree that running restaurants is one of the most challenging of all businesses and it takes a special type of person to be truly successful.

In my latest episode I’m starting what I call the Independent Operator’s Series. 

I’m speaking with Mr. Matt Chappell of Gather, a Farm Fresh Eatery in Yarmouth on the beautiful coast of Maine. I want to share the challenges, the triumphs, the decisions, the mistakes and the ultimate learning on how to open a restaurant, how to run a restaurant profitably and successfully, how to increase restaurant sales and increase restaurant business.

After seven years, Matt is a veteran operator who’s not afraid to experiment, try new things, lead by example, empower the team and stay on top of all the details.  We’ll talk about the delicate balance between the front and back of house, management style, training staff, menu building, innovative marketing and some solid advice to new and existing operators from in the trenches.
